The Format return to the road for the Boycott Heaven run

Nate Ruess and Sam Means are back. The Format is returning to the road for the Boycott Heaven Tour, their first headlining trek across the United States and Canada since 2008. To bring this new era to life, The Format, Ben Kweller, Phantom Planet, Piebald, Adult Mom, and Limbeck will perform together during this historic run.

The tour kicks off on March 26 in Boston, with stops in Chicago, Nashville, Toronto, and Seattle. Beyond the headlining dates, the band will appear at the Hinterland Music Festival. This tour is a celebration of their first studio album in nearly twenty years, Boycott Heaven, and includes a charitable mission where $1 from every ticket sold helps fight food insecurity.

About The Format

The Format is an indie pop/rock duo from Peoria, Arizona, formed in 2002 by Nate Ruess and Sam Means. Known for catchy, emotionally rich songs like “The First Single (You Know Me),” “She Doesn’t Get It,” and the acclaimed album Dog Problems (2006), they combined 60s-70s pop influences with alternative rock stylings. After a long hiatus, they reunited in 2025, releasing the single “Holy Roller” ahead of their third studio album Boycott Heaven, due January 23, 2026. They're celebrated for their heartfelt lyrics and melodic inventiveness and have inspired bands across indie and pop spectrums.
